This employment had three roles within one. I worked as an Athletic Trainer/Physician Extender in the Arnold Palmer Sports Medicine Center. I worked in cooperation with Primary Care Orthopedic Physicians in the clinical setting at the Arnold Palmer Sports Health Center. Reviewed patients’ medical history such as vitals, performed orthopedic and musculoskeletal assessment, presented patients’ medical history and orthopedic assessment to physician. Assisted physician with diagnostic tests and referral orders. Provided crutch fitting and instructional gait training, and home exercise programs as needed. Aided Physicians with Sonosite Ultrasound for injury assessments, injections and aspirations. Updated MedStar Sports Health Resource Directory for all athletic trainers employed by the MedStar Sports Health system. Responsible for athletic training coverage for Baltimore Sports & Social Club (BSSC) flag football games. Coordinated and provided coverage for Ripken youth baseball tournaments and weeklong camps at Aberdeen, MD location. Other part of my position entailed working as the athletic trainer for the Baltimore Blast.Provided emergency care, orthopedic and musculoskeletal injury assessment, injury prevention, and injury treatment. Designed injury rehabilitation programs tailored to injuries, and return to play conditioning programs. Organized pre-season and post-season orthopedic physicals. Coordinated diagnostic testing and appointments with the team physicians. Responsible for medical record keeping. Managed ordering and purchasing of athletic training suppliesThird role of my job was serving as the Athletic Trainer for Loyola University Club Sports.Responsible for all injury prevention, emergency care and orthopedic and musculoskeletal injury assessment, injury rehabilitation programs, and return to play conditioning programs. Referred club sport athletes to local medical facilities for diagnostic testing and/or follow-up care.
