Field Service Specialist
I joined Intervention Rentals in the offshore surface department after my previous role was made redundant due to the local base closure. In this role I specialise in the maintenance of offshore surface wells and equipment and undertake investigative work as per the client’s requirements. Recently I have been working at the Miskar Gas Field in Tunisia carrying out investigations on seabed anomalies and performing wellhead integrity maintenance duties.
Workshop Supervisor/Field Service Coordinator/Lead Subsea Technician (Various Secondments)
I was given the opportunity to work overseas in Africa as Workshop Supervisor for the Total Moho Bilondo Project. Increasing my knowledge, I worked on various equipment of another design of intervention equipment (STABCON). I also fully tested a water injection XT and operated the SCM/controls system the equipment had.Since my first secondment to Pointe Noire, working on the Moho Bilondo project I was then asked back several times as a Workshop Supervisor, an acting Field Service Coordinator and more recently a Lead Subsea Technician working on rebuilding, calibrating, pressure testing and S.I.T integrated testing of well head connectors.
Lead Mechanical Subsea Technician
Working on the Laggan Toremore project, I was promoted to Lead Mechanical Subsea Technician which in turn transitioned my role to a more supervisory position. Through demonstrating additional responsibility, especially with regards to pressure testing, I also achieved the competency of a Hyrdo Test Supervisor. While working in this senior position I have expanded my technical knowledge and expertise of the role. I have also built up my practical and soft skills such as presentation skills, working well under pressure, flexibility and adaptability, communication skills, time management and problem solving.I keep up my testing competency knowledge by being involved in the HFT of most equipment such as XT, EDP, LRP and much more. I still keep up my knowledge on the job by continuing to work on the tools such as the SLS and Tubing Hangers.
Workshop Technician
I worked for over 21 months as a Workshop Technician on the Shah Deniz II project based in Baku, Azerbaijan on a four-week on/four-week off rotation. I supported the project team by carrying out the mobilization, demobilization, maintenance and repair of all TFMC equipment which included intervention and tie in systems (UCON), well jumpers, cluster spools, subsea manifolds, manifold guide bases, IWOCS and control systems. I was also responsible for training and supporting newly hired local employees. This position was my first working for BP as a client while I have been employed with TechnipFMC which added to my experience in my overall role and gave me a wider knowledge of equipment used on overseas sites by other clients.
Technical Coordinator (Secondment)
I took the opportunity to gain more experience and exposure in other areas of the business through working in the role of Technical Co-ordinator. This helped me better my knowledge of other aspects of a live project by seeing how various departments work together. Main duties included - creating work instructions for job packs based on customer requirements, organising equipment to be re-certified by third parties, chairing meetings on various issues such as equipment problems, delivery dates, spares etc
