Supported the materials selection, materials testing, and evaluation of salt chemistry of molten salt nuclear reactors.

Supported manufacturing of current and next generation naval nuclear cores by investigating fundamental reactor material science and advanced materials processing.

Supported research and development of materials used in naval nuclear propulsion through microcharacterization by Field-Emission Scanning Auger Microscopy (SAM), Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis (ESCA), and Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) at a surface and nanoscale level. Involved with multidisciplinary research projects requiring expertise in physical metallurgy, surface science, corrosion, semiconductors, ceramic science, thermodynamics, radiochemistry, and sol-gel chemistry.

Conducted original research to develop new products for future flat glass and automotive markets, and assisted with transfer of technologies from Advanced Research to manufacturing groups.

Contributed to new product development and provided technical support and consultation for manufacturing of lighting and nickel-cadmium battery products.
