Award-winning journalist who has shifted to the role of freelance writer, editor and communication strategist after a wonderful career at the Chicago Tribune. My roles at the Tribune included member of the Editorial Board and Associate Managing Editor in charge of business news. Earlier I spent nearly a decade as a Tribune foreign correspondent based in Tokyo and then Beijing. I've got a knack for seeing the big picture and then explaining it in clear, compelling language. I’m a writer and editor with a broad and deep skill set. I do indepth reporting, ghost write opinion pieces, guide messaging projects for organizations and am available for book-length projects. Through COVID I created and wrote ChainMail, a successful biweekly newsletter on the global supply chain for MxD, a public-private organization focused on digital manufacturing.
