About Michael Marty

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Arizona. My research sits at the interface of analytical chemistry and biochemistry. We use mass spectrometry and lipid nanodiscs to study membrane proteins and their interactions with lipids. We are also interested in peptide-membrane interactions and oligomerization in membranes. As developer of UniDec, I am excited about native mass spectrometry data analysis. Intersecting this research, I am also passionate about teaching and mentoring at the analytical and biochemistry interface, and in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially with women and Veterans in STEM.
