Led talent and strategy for Proprietary Research, Venture Capital, Centralized Quant, and Fusion (internal alpha capture team).Redesigned recruitment assessment, on-boarding, performance management, and culture program across verticals.Responsible for 65+ experienced hires in 2020.Led search for new Head of Cubist (Point 72’s systematic investing business); search took less than four months.Led the selection and implementation of a new ATS for Market Intelligence.Developed a campus recruiting program that increased total applicants by 10x and surpassed DE&I benchmarks by 10%.I departed the firm when the Head of Market Intelligence decided to leave. As a result, the businesses I covered were reduced in scope significantly (~150 people also departed the firm at this time).

Built a tutoring company from scratch that expanded to over 20 tutors, 5+ full-time employees, two locations, and a sizeable online business. Successfully exited the business in 2021.

Responsible for recruiting across discretionary groups representing 55% of the firm’s front office headcount globally (NY, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai) and for senior roles in Corporate Development, DESCOvery (D.E. Shaw’s venture studio), Investor Relations and DESIM (D. E. Shaw Investment Management).Rebuilt an underperforming team; hired two recruiters and two coordinators, developed metrics to track performance, increased internal sourcing, and re-established relationships with external recruiting vendors.Recruited 25+ experienced candidates in 2018, including several Senior Vice Presidents in multiple offices, the firm’s first head of Consultant Relations, the head of the European Credit Team, the head of the venture incubator, COO of DESIM, head of European IR, and the head of European Power Trading.

An entrepreneurial effort to create a U.S. rugby franchise to play in the Guinness Pro 14. Although investors were secured and operations were established, the league expanded to South Africa instead of the U.S.

Responsible for senior-level search execution and origination. Helped establish the firm’s quantitative investment recruiting practice, which resulted in severalplacements and a new revenue stream for the firm.Co-founder of the contingent recruiting arm of Goldsmith, Elevation Recruiting.Partnered with an outside technologist to build a custom ATS/CRM system.

Co-founded a recruitment agency, growing the business to 20+ employees in three locations (NY, London, and New Haven) Led the placement of over 250 individuals at leading hedge funds, asset managers, technology firmsand venture-backed startups.Relocated to London in 2013 and successfully launched the U.K. branch of Elm Talent GroupSuccessfully exited the company in 2014, selling a 50% stake to a business partner.

Managed day-to-day apartment proceedings and several large capital improvement projects, including anew roof, vinyl siding, and a new furnace in a 6-unit multi-family located in the Yale community. I held this job simultaneously with completing my PhD at Yale.
