About Michael Quinlan
Currently pursuing a permanent full time job opportunity. After graduating in 2014, I have since been working various seasonal conservation jobs, building my skill set and helping me focus in on the specific type of wildlife conservation work I am looking for.Achieved a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation Biology with a minor in Animal Behavior in 2014. Classes included: Wildlife Habitats, Intro to GIS, Animal Behavior, Field Dendrology, Nat. Resources, Wildlife Ecology, Vertebrate Biology, and Animal Cognition.I have been interested in this field of study ever since I went on a safari with my family to Tanzania back in 2003. I chose to take a year off after high school to go back to Africa and partake in three different volunteer options that focused on wildlife rehabilitation, wildlife population surveying using telemetry deivces, and wildlife habitat management. At the University of New Hampshire, I have been dedicated towards Wildlife Conservation from the start, and was fortunate enough to be able to take my studies over to New Zealand for a semester. While there, we gained valuable experience and knowledge by taking a caravan from the North Island, to the South Island, and back. On the road, we stopped at important and beautiful towns and preserves to learn first hand the type of work and knowledge it takes to conserve and restore areas such as alpine, marine, wetland, jungle, etc. The end of the semester was spent conducting our own research project, as well as writing an extensive paper on the study. The idea of going out into the world to take conservation issues on first hand excites me very much, and hope to find the right company with the right people to help me achieve my goals at being a well established wildlife conservation scientist.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Wildlife, Research, Wildlife Conservation, and 13 others.
