Having worked on all phases of capital improvement and infrastructure projects throughout my career, I am familiar with the project life cycle from concept to construction. I am fully versed in the development of complete plan sets, and I understand the importance of plan presentation and construction details. I am also proficient in Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) design, specifically retrofitting curb ramps to meet the latest construction standards. My engineering experience also includes construction management, field inspections, and water quality compliance inspections. My technical experience allows me to lead plan development and production for local roadway geometric layouts, grading, retaining walls, signing and striping, and traffic control plans. Since joining NV5, my new role has led to preparing project specifications and the engineer's opinion of construction costs. After more than 23 years of experience in the civil engineering industry, the past several years working at NV5 has allowed me to bring all my skills together. As an Assistant Project Manager, I regularly participate in generating project scopes, developing budget proposals, maintaining project schedules, corresponding with clients, balancing workload distribution for interdisciplinary teams, and coaching the junior engineering staff.

Upon relocating to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in November 2014​, I joined McIlvried, DiDiano & Mox, LLC (MDM). Specializing in both commercial and private site development improvements, MDM presented the opportunity to quickly return to my drafting roots and back into the engineering industry itself. Since joining the company in December 2014, I have furthered my experiences with AutoCAD Civil 3D and more importantly the Civil Site functionality of the software.

Intelinet presented the opportunity to cross train in a new industry as a field technician while providing the company use of my existing skills. My experience and expertise allowed them to bring as-built document production in-house for all of their clients. The new culture and nature of work environment has afforded me a broader view of jobs and careers in general. So far, it has been a good platform allowing me to use my existing skills while learning new ones.

I was approached by a former colleague and friend to help with a growing backlog of private development projects in a new design group at PDC. Tight deadlines and budget constraints required my expertise and efficiency until more people could be added to the team. This position allowed me to experience the private development side of engineering rather than the public infrastructure side that was typical of my previous employments. My time with PDC was helpful in rounding out my experience specific to the engineering and professional services industry.

QIC presented a unique opportunity to play a bigger role in a smaller, four person, up and coming firm. My role expanded from design and drafting to include more back office/in-house responsibilities. Setting up the IT network facilities, generating CAD and general office standards of operation and protocol were of the newest skills I acquired in addition to my existing knowledge base. I not only learned to work independently, but also to anticipate needs beyond my usual perspective as "just a staff employee". The limited resources forced me to be creative in my problem solving strategy for the company as a whole.

Once Boyle was acquired by AECOM, the organization landscape changed and new opportunities for expanding my responsibilities were presented. I took on larger projects supervising staff and student engineers to handle the increased workload. I also collaborated with upper management to assist them with long range planning and scheduling needs regarding project and staffing skill sets requirements.

Recruited out of high school, I started work on various projects in the engineering department including site development, landscaping, and various transportation improvement projects. Bike path design, highway design, street and sidewalk improvements, and pre-engineering concept development. The skills I developed while working on these projects included the typical office software including spreadsheets and data bases; as well as the AutoCAD and Microstation design packages. Over time, I produced plan sets, technical report graphics, presentation displays, and provided introductory instruction for newly hired engineers.
