Thermalspray Technician
CurrentSet up sand blasting and HVAS equipment including boss, bull, blast, chicago hoses, blast whips, with chokers, tie wire or r-clips, pnumatic deadman, and high velocity arc spray guns (leads, twecos, etc.) Setting up welding machines, loading wire boxes and running wire conduits. Setting up breathing boxes and breathing lines for use with fresh air and blast hoods. Tying up/securing hoses nd equipment out of the way. Setting up and maintaining blast pots.Clean blast and profile surfaces (including feathering lips and weld overlay smooth using 3/4" and 1" blast whips) to be sprayed with a metal coating (HVAS) to protect the clients mission critical equiptment from excessive wear and or premature failure nd extend service lifeSeal coatings with desired passivators.Appying ceramic coating to equipment such as tubes/fiber refractory inside of Platformers, Coker heaters, etc.Use Elcometers to read coating thicknesses.I also have some experience Stick (shielded metal arc welding) and MIG (gas metal arc welding) welding with mild and high carbon steel.Experience using metal cut-off saws.Working 12 hour shifts 7 days a week in and out of confined spaces on scaffolding in extreme climates wearing proper ppe (full face respirators, fire retardant coveralls, ear and eye protection, steeltoe non slip leather boots, tyvek, hardhats, welding helmets, gloves) until the job is done.Experience using fall protection such as climbing harnesses, self retracting lanyards, shock absorbing lanyards, 100% tie off.Hole watching and fire watching when hot work is being done.Filling out JSA's, near miss reports,L.O.T.O (lock out tag out)Also maintenance all equiptment as necessary.
