Responsible for the following areas as a Process Controller/Technician- Naptha Pretreater and Reformer- Hydrogen Treat Gas System- Refinery Fuel Gas System- Oil Movements- Gas Recovery Unit (CLR)Responsible for the following areas as a Process Technician- Boilers- Diesel Hydrotreater- LPG loading Facility- Sulphur Plant- Utilities including Water Treatment and Instrument/Plant Air- Flare System- Cooling TowersDuties I carry out as a Process Controller / Technician included- Continual monitoring and adjusting of process to ensure units are operated safely and efficiently within designed limits- Liase with Engineering, Planning and Customers to meet production targets and qualities as well as optimize Unit processing and pipeline opportunities- Maintain effective communication between Shift Manager, Process Technician and maintenance to ensure any incidents/disruptions can be rectified safely and efficiently- Training and mentoring of new Process Controllers and Technicians- Shutting down and starting up Refinery complexes safely and efficiently always adhering to Procedures and JSA's- Writing and reviewing procedures- Ensure end of shift hand-over is thorough and well documented. Discussing any unit issues and daily maintenance schedules- Issuer Authority (IA) for Permit To Work (PTW)- Gas Testing (Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Vehicle Entry)- Managing Control Of Work (COW) System and writing Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) documents of plant equipment- Sampling of finish product which includes Aviation accredited sampling and supplying• A member of the Emergency Response Team and First Aider

I started my career at BP as a Process Technician and progressed to a Process Controller (DCS) where I operated in the following units• Crude Distillation• Vacuum Distillation• Naptha Reformer• Gas Recovery• Benzene Saturation• AlkylationAlso as an outside Process technician only I was responsible for• Sour Water Stripper• Amine Treating Unit• Oil Movements• Hydrogen Generation Unit• Hydrocracking Unit • Operate Crude and Product Wharf for loading and unloading of raw and finished productDuties I carry out as a Process Controller / Technician included• Training and mentoring of new Operators• Shutting down and starting up Refinery complexes safely and efficiently• Co-ordinating maintenance turnarounds and new projects• Writing and reviewing procedures• Commissioning of new plant• Issuer Authority (IA) for Permit To Work (PTW)• Gas Testing (Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Vehicle Entry)• Control Of Work (COW) System, Writing Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) documents of plant equipment• Ensure Risk Assessments / Job Safety Analysis has been completed• Sampling of finish product• Ensure end of shift hand-over is thorough and well documented.
