CurrentMichael Vitale is a Director in the Disputes, Claims, & Investigations group. He has over 12 years of experience providing consulting and forensic accounting services to clients. He specializes in data analytics, economics damages, class-action lawsuits, complex commercial disputes and other data-intensive litigation support.Mr. Vitale’s experience includes applying data analytics skills to configure, examine, and summarize significant volumes of structured and unstructured data. His work has supported expert reports, affidavits, and trial testimony across a wide range of industries. He has also provided non-litigation support to help his clients better understand their own internal data and improve internal processes. He has advised both external and in-house counsel for businesses ranging in size from small privately held organizations to Fortune 50 companies. Much of Mr. Vitale’s work involves quantifying damages for and against parties to litigation or investigations, as well as rebutting damage methodologies of opposing experts. These cases span a wide range of industries, including healthcare, IT, energy, hospitality, recreation and financial services. Mr. Vitale’s healthcare work has resulted in successful rulings to his clients totalling over $1 billion.Prior to joining Stout, Mr. Vitale was a Manager with Alvarez & Marsal, where he provided assistance to clients involved in complex business litigation. Prior to Alvarez & Marsal, Mr. Vitale was a Senior Auditor with Deloitte.Mr. Vitale earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Michigan. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) in the state of Illinois.
