CurrentSUMMARY• Set up state-of-the-art inserting department consisting of eight Bell & Howell (CMC) Producer 16, two Bell & Howell Producer 22, four W&D (Buhrs) BB700 and four swing arm inserters with Glennco choppers. All inserters equipped with Lake imaging vision systems, Domino K600i ink jet printers and Robatech hot melt glue systems. The inserting department has turned into an exceptional flagship division within the company with the majority of the inserters approaching the 70 million insert mark within three years. Two major factors contributing to this success are acquiring the right equipment and an exceptional preventive maintenance program. • Set up a one-of-a-kind industry leading attaching department consisting of 18 diverse high-speed affixing lines made up primarily of Precision Finishing vacuum conveyors, Multifeeders friction feeders, Lake Imaging vision systems, Scitex/Domino printers, Robatech hot melt glue systems, along with Pack-Smart, Superior-PHS, Dick-moll, Petratto and custom-built in-house equipment. Major factors in this department’s success are again in acquiring the right equipment along with decades of experience in affixing and manipulating paper.• Redesigned the 325,000 square foot plant layout in AutoCAD, moving equipment, racks, and walls to allow for current and future equipment expansion. Implemented and currently using that design on the production floor today.• Developed and implemented an extensive facility Emergency Utility Shutdown Procedure involving the fire sprinkler system, domestic water, irrigation, natural gas and plant electrical system.
