Reviews criminal cases as assigned in determining course of action to be followed. Provides security, including transportation, for victims and witnesses during courtroom appearances and proceedings. Conducts criminal/public integrity grand jury investigations of cases by collecting and analyzing data. Testifies in court when necessary and is responsible for the transfer of evidence introduced in trial. Photographs crime scenes and crime victims. May fingerprint suspects in order to verify identity. Copies existing audio and visual recordings and prepares other court exhibits using multi-media resources. Assists in preparation and presentation of courtroom trial material. Serves and assists with subpoenas, citations, arrest and search warrants. Assists Chief Investigator and outside law enforcement agencies with criminal case information. Maintains knowledge of past and current case law. Responds to inquiries, resolves, and/or refers to proper person or agency. Possesses computer based knowledge to include but not limited to downloading/installing programs, troubleshooting hardware issues, converting/editing video, researching and applying proper codecs and plays for videos.
