KCA are perhaps best known as the interior designers for the Burj Al Arab Hotel Dubai; I was responsible for delivering the entire interior design, of all the public spaces, within six months from appointment to construction documentation and scheduling. Our team of 22 designers hit the mark.I was also involved at director level on seven successful hotels for Hilton International; several for Jumeirah International, including their first property: Jumeriah Beach Hotel; Larvotto Hotel Monaco; several projects for the Okura Hotel Group; several palaces and yachts for confidential royal clients and I was the project director for the 1.4 million square metre expansion of Dubai International Airport.As a Director I was responsible for fee negotiation, allocating resources to projects and ensuring projects were delivered on time, in profit.I'm proud of my time at KCA, we did some big projects in tiny timescales, had some great fun along the way and built some great interiors.www.kca-int.com

In a one year window, with a small design team, we opened 37 shops for them throughout the UK, Holland the USA and Canada. Much travelling was done. Much MDF was installed.

More focus on retail.Design International is one of the world's largest multi-disciplinary design companies of its type. At the time I worked for them, founding partner Paul Mollé had recently arrived to open the London office and for quite a while it was just the two of us. That threw me in at the deep end; having to do everything from buying the stationery to giving client presentations - and all bits in between.
