Responsible for the efficient allocation, observation, leadership development, and training of multiple crews in a fast paced and high capacity operation by ensuring that all flights in a specified zone are downloaded and uploaded in accordance with the policies and procedures of Menzies Aviation and our airline customer Alaska Airlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-Safety: Ensure that ramp personnel adhere to established company policies and safety regulations and cooperate with the Safety, Security and Education team.-Communication: Ensure that employees are briefed on daily operations prior to start of shift; provide Alaska Airlines scorecard feedback to all employees-Time & Attendance: Ensure that all leads and ramp agents clock in and out for assigned shift -Allocation of breaks: Monitor allocation of meal breaks to zone team by using a signup sheet or Time & Attendance system for backup documentation sheets-Staffing: Ensure that employees are properly staff on shift and that crews are at gate 10 minutes prior to flight arrival, FOD has been completed, GSE equipment is ready, and cargo and outbound bags are staged at the gate.-Liaison with Alaska Airlines: Liaison with Alaska Airlines scorecard auditor-Communication with Dispatch and Shift Manager: Ensure that assigned working radio is on at all times for purposes of communicating to dispatch and shift manager.-Teamwork: Must be able to support other zones as needed; backup support must be approved by 2IC/Shift Manager. -Shift Report: Prepare zone report for 2IC/Shift Manager. Reports should include data on performance, safety, GSE equipment maintenance, and staffing issues.-Project a professional image/conduct at all time.

Provide support to safety/training management on matters of safety & training, to proactively promote a ‘safety first’ culture, through a process of hazard identification and risk control, developing policy, supporting the field operation to introduce safe working procedures and proactive audit programs. Compile flight information to monitor the progress of aircraft by zone. Information provided includes but is not limited to: flight arrival / departure, weather information, changes to flight schedules. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-Support corporate compliance with applicable Health and Safety at Work Regulations. -Prepare and transmit flight information to Zone Supervisors and Shift Manager. -Prepare and ensure flights are dispatched as per established client requirements. -Prepare flight delay reports. -Ensure that the flight crew is at the gate 10 minutes before arrival and for departure and that load sheets have been passed on to AS operation 5 minutes prior to departure. -When there are discrepancies in the load plan for any given flight I am tasked with minor troubleshooting of the portion of the load plan that effect operations below the passenger compartment. -Draft daily shift log.

Lead a crew of 2 - 4 Ramp Service Agents (RSA's) in providing safety and security around the parked aircraft, load and unload of all baggage and cargo, direct all arriving and departing aircraft to and away from the gate, operate and maintain ground and gate equipment and vehicles, service the aircraft, and remain in communication with flight operations, among other duties.

Guide and assist ramp service agents in unloading local baggage and odd size baggage onto designated carousel's. Run unscreened local and transfer bags to their designated unscreened conveyor belts. Sort through neighboring carousel's while keeping record of misrouted outbound bags of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Airlines, running bags directly to the specified outbound pier and directly to the designated outbound flight if there are time constraints.

Unloading and loading of luggage, freight and cargo on and off commercial aircraft. Driving and operating small specialized commercial vehicles. Position requires: heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching.Main Duties and Accountabilities:-Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport between aircraft, airport terminals and air cargo facilities.-Frequent bending, stretching push/pulling, stacking and kneeling in small confined locations.-Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, air cargo facilities and other aircraft.-Operate motorized equipment.-Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.-Work primarily outdoors.
