As an architect, I identified the primary requirements for SAS Viya: Elasticity (both growing and shrinking deployment environments), scalability, resilience to hardware failure, open access to SAS analytics from other languages and environments as well as SAS language, and cloud-friendly deployment capability. I wrote and contributed to SAS standards for REST APIs. I enabled use of Git and Gerrit generally, and moved Java development from a "build the world" model to continuous integration in that environment. I provided consultation on Git, open source practices, software security, and Linux development throughout SAS.As a manager, I led the special projects group for Armistead Sapp, CTO, initiating process changes and building developer support tools.

Core contributor and co-inventor of multiple rPath technologies, responsible for continuing invention and technical oversight, and integrating new technology into engineering organization and process. Engineering contact for large enterprise customers; designed new features to meet customer requirements.

One of three founding engineers who defined and built the Conary system management technology for massive-scale system management automation. Managed rPath’s operating system and technology engineering groups. Designed software build process to automate full source bootstrap build of entire Linux operating system. Designed and implemented extensible developer workflow automation. Monitored customer interaction with support and engineering organizations.
