Franklin & Marshall College is a residential college dedicated to excellence in undergraduate liberal education. Its aims are to inspire in young people of high promise and diverse backgrounds a genuine and enduring love for learning, to teach them to read, write and think critically, to instill in them the capacity for both independent and collaborative action, and to educate them to explore and understand the natural, social and cultural worlds in which they live.As part of the Annual Giving team, my focus was to cultivate a portfolio of alumni for leadership gifts to the Franklin & Marshall Fund at the Benjamin Franklin Society level (>$1,787) through personal outreach including one-on-one meetings, phone, email and other communications strategies. Additionally, I contributed toward communication strategies, planning for the annual Day of Giving, and staff support for multiple reunion committees.

Columbia Theological Seminary exists to educate and nurture faithful, imaginative, and effective leaders for the sake of the Church and the world. Columbia Seminary is an educational institution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) offering multiple degree programs and a community of theological inquiry, leadership development, and formation for ministry in the service of the Church of Jesus Christ. Through The Center for Lifelong Learning, it offers dozens of non-degree programs, courses, seminars, and workshops as a resource for church professionals and lay people. My accomplishments include a $100,000 effort to manage the complete rebrand of the institution, leading up to a redesign of the website and other recruitment materials. We later worked on multiple sub-brands including the development of a new annual fund campaign. The website with our newly created Columbia Connections blog attracted more than 50,000 users each month with a 10-fold increase in SEO results. Over the course of my tenure, we saw a 17-fold increase in audience and activity on social media. In addition to editing Vantage magazine, I worked on SEO (search engine optimization), developed e-news communications, coordinated advertising and press relations, photography and videography. Over 12,000 households were reached with our combined efforts. Other successful contributions to institutional advancement included 3 successful grant applications and promotion of a special fund for global leadership.

On a regular basis, I sent out monthly email updates, published newsletters, maintained blogs and other social media benefiting over 3,000 members monthly. Press releases, advertisements and other external communications were prepared and distributed, as well as communications and advocacy support with State and Federal legislators, and various government agencies. For all clients, I assisted in the facilitation of strategic planning, matters of Board governance, and maintained strategic partnerships with related state and national trade organizations. I managed budgets totaling $750,000 and achieved fiscal stability by consistently doubling sponsorship and other revenues. I planned conferences and exhibit shows for small and large meetings up to 600 people.

I provided planning and oversight of conferences throughout New York and New Jersey directing training for area and regional conferences for up to 500 students. Much of my teaching time was devoted to leadership development and vocational stewardship (understanding God's calling in our daily work). My specialties included strategic planning facilitation for staff and student leadership teams as well as discussions about theology of science. I participated in a national task force for discipleship, and NY/NJ task forces for multi-ethnicity, vocational stewardship, and leadership training.
