This organization has been an integral part of my life since I was 13. The leadership in the organization has provided me with role models, mentors, and friends. Professional experiences gained here abound:I recorded promotional videos, built websites and updated them (HTML, CSS, hyperlinks to events, programs, and deals). There wasn't much data (comparatively), yet I gained an appreciation for file management and transfer in videography. I learned the basics of PHP and more than I wanted to of the Adobe Suite. The occasionally tedious graphic design and data entry taught me well, and helped me in college.To this point in my life, 2021-2022 at UCA was the most acutely stressful period. While trying to sleep and maintain a social life (e.g. seeing my family twice a week and meeting my now wife); I taught martial arts three nights a week and trained once or twice more weekly, interned at WIRE 10-20 hours a week, and took a full load of junior/senior level classes, as I had taken all electives at community college (UACCM 2018-2020), before coming into Leadership Circle full time circa May 2022 after I graduated with a 3.97 GPA (BBA MIS) from UCA.Focusing on the impact of GMHMA in my life, the training principles, much like a mission statement, that we repeat every class are:Be polite, be patient, be alert, be brave, do your best, respect yourself and others, and Never Give Up.These values have been instilled in me from a young age and they are at the heart of the organizations' culture. The people who know me best, aside from my family, train at GMHMA every week. We keep each other sharp; as iron sharpens iron.

My now boss (Lani Van Dusen) who is the Managing Director of Research and Evaluation at Leadership Circle (LC), recruited me while I was in college to work for one of her firms, WIRE.It was a completely virtual experience, in that I never met her in person. She moved into LC full time and created a team (May 2022). I was technically the first internal hire she made at LC, the second, third, and fourth hires for her team I continue to learn from every day. I value the time and meetings spent with Lani before she retires and we all lose a vital source of critically acclaimed information.
