I am a residency-trained clinical pharmacist with specialty training in ID/IM/Academia. I have served as the PGY1 residency program director at Moses Cone Hospital for the past nine years, with responsibility for the training of nine PGY1 residents each year. I chair the systemwide Residency Advisory Committee and RPD Subcommittee for our system's ten pharmacy residency programs including coordinating accreditation preparedness. I am a preceptor for the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Management rotation, participate with the residency research committee, serve as a facilitator in the evidence-based medicine curriculum, and mentor the residents' teaching experiences. I co-coordinate our system pharmacy continuing education team which plans and facilitates more than 30 continuing education programs per year.As a clinical pharmacy manager, I am a co-leader of our system pharmacy practice model team. I am an active member of the pharmacy continuous quality improvement teams, decision support team, and clinical leaders team. In partnership with other clinical leaders, we use key performance indicators to optimize clinical pharmacy services. I have worked with the implementation of three new computer systems through design, validation, and testing. Recently, I worked with a team to establish an in-house pharmacy technician training program and led our team through a successful initial accreditation visit.I maintain active memberships with ASHP, ACCP, SIDP, MAD-ID, and the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists. My current practice interests include use of Lean principles in residency, resident recruitment, competency training and assessment, continuing education strategies, and antimicrobial stewardship.
