For the past 3+ years I have grown a DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering teams at MSC. We are a Cloud First design and operations team using Terraform from HashiCorp to provision all infrastructure and permissions in our Google Cloud VPC. We are focused on the core platforms at MSC (eCommerce, ERP) and also new innovative revenue channels and products. Responsibilities/Accomplishments• Lead client and consulting teams to port a legacy ATM debit networks switch platform for a small ATM provider. The target architecture completely modernized all aspects of the providers business from infrastructure to application tech stack, from automated deployment to superior data security and PCI DSS compliance.• Lead client and consulting teams to implement an AWS VPC (using CloudFormation) for a small merchant acquirer. This platform gave the acquirer autonomy from their parent company to provide improved reporting and new product innovation to their merchant customer base. Solution was PCI DSS compliant, highly secure, integrated with the parent company and cost effective to operate.• Lead client and consulting teams to deliver a REST based integration layer to the architecture of a home heating fuel provider. This integration layer was a key architecture component that delivered a new self service payment acceptance capability thru their IVR. All of this was done without expanding the scope of their PCI DSS Compliance which would have been terribly burdensome for the client.• Lead client and consulting teams to deliver a modernization roadmap for one of the largest retail food chains in the northeast. This roadmap moved their backend processing from Microfocus COBOL to C#.Net. In addition, the hosting solution was moved from their parent company to AWS. This provided cost savings, future proof technology stack and greater ability to innovate for customers in their grocery stores across the region.

Most recent example is a java programs and shell scripts that transforms an HSA Contribution files and Claims files.• Provide technology and security guidance and oversight. Most recently, the impact of distributed ledger technology on health care.

Responsibilities/Accomplishments• Collaborated with product leaders, project team members and external AO service providers to formulate a solution to provide Advanced Ordering capabilities to one of our QSR clients.• Worked on a broader and deeper organizational commitment to Cloud computing on AWS. Identified key offerings to leverage and created roadmap.• Architecture Review Board member introduced and evaluated new technologies and patterns. Managed technology and business roadmaps.• Defined and implemented Technology Standards. Examples include a Software Engineering Testing Standard, an iOS IPA standard and an Android APK Build Standard. • Assessed Mozido CRM processes, identified issues, determined root cause and developed a tactical roadmap to improve overall CRM.• Proved system performance for investor confidence. Led a cross functional team on a performance testing initiative that focused on the core transaction processing switch called MoTEAF.

Responsibilities/Accomplishments Established the charter and objectives for the first architecture group within the IT organization. Established SHARP (System High Availability, Reliability and Performance) standards.  Assisted in the triage of applications that were failing SHARP and documenting development best practices in the area of system availability and performance. Evaluated peak mainframe utilization windows based on collected metrics data. Remediated poor performing jobs, services and user interfaces to save costs. Established a platform consolidation and modernization roadmap for redundant and antiquated systems in the overall platform portfolio.  Established the reference architecture for SOA and the integration architecture for seamless global platform interoperability. Led a team that wrote our own Enterprise Service Bus to establish the feasibility of SOA. Worked with Accenture to advance the scope of the SOA Ref Arch to include legacy mainframe modernization and organizational impact assessment.

Responsibilities: Primarily responsible for the formation of a CICS ‘End-State’ and a roadmap for Legacy Transformation and Modernization. Document Baseline Architecture for CICS and Batch Processing. Analyzed the existing architecture of CICS applications to fully understand current design practices and the established implementation of those designs.  Determine viability of the latest SOA technology offerings from IBM. Working with staff on prototyping applications using the latest technologies within CICS TS 2.3 including CWS, SOAP for CICS and BTS.  Teach design and development best practices learned from the distributed environment to the developers of CICS and COBOL applications including, Patterns (Business Delegate, Façade), Abstraction, Isolation, configurable programs driven by and responsive to metadata. Managed the systems programming area responsible for CICS and zOS systems programming, DB2 and Oracle DBAs and Enterprise Storage Management.Budget Responsible for the zSeries budget. This is currently at $22 Million. Understand the implications of IBMs VWLC (Variable Workload License Charge) on how the zSeries should be partitioned and how applications should perform in an effort to manage down operational costs.  Ran four initiatives to reengineer certain applications to positively impact application performance and zSeries software costsOrganization Interfaced directly with the CIO on many topics including architecture, modernization, applications support, organization and budget.

Lead a technical team of as many as 50 people that were responsible for all new account boarding and account maintenance systems for our core merchant acquiring platforms. Primary accomplishments included: migration of alliance bank partners on to our platform, establishment of an international CardNet platform in the UK and the migration from legacy client server technologies of the 1990s onto more modern nTier web architecture.
