Mike Jackson is an Emmy® and Tony® Award-winning producer and partner at Get Lifted Film Co. Jackson’s projects include the documentary STAND UP AND SHOUT, which follows Philadelphia’s Hill Freedman Academy and was released in November 2023; the Emmy® Award-winning and 2024 Television Academy Honoree 1000% ME: GROWING UP MIXED, the Paramount+ documentary LOUDMOUTH, about Reverend Al Sharpton, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and has since gone on to receive a 2024 Emmy nomination in the category “Outstanding Current Affairs Documentary.”; the PBS documentary RACIST TREES about a historically Black neighborhood in Palm Springs which fought to remove a wall of trees that form a barrier believed to segregate the community; and the Netflix hip-hop competition series "RHYTHM & FLOW" which will premiere its second season and will feature DJ Khaled, Ludacris, Latto and Eminem as the new judges. The latter’s first season won the 2020 NAACP Image Award. He produced David E. Talbert’s acclaimed holiday film JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS STORY and executive produced HBO docu-series ATLANTA’S MISSING AND MURDERED: THE LOST CHILDREN, which received the AAFCA TV Honor for Best Documentary and was awarded “Best Multi-Part Documentary” by the International Documentary Association. Jackson also executive produced the HBO documentary 40 YEARS A PRISONER, the Netflix documentary GIVING VOICE and the WGN series UNDERGROUND, created by Misha Green. Other recent documentary credits are CITIZEN ASHE, THE LEGEND OF THE UNDERGROUND and A CRIME ON THE BAYOU. Additional projects include SHERMAN’S SHOWCASE on IFC, ABC’s "John Legend and Family: A Bigger Love Father's Day.” and Damien Chazelle’s Oscar®-winning musical LA LA LAND and NBC’s 2018 Emmy®-winning JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR LIVE and the 2017 Tony® Award-winning August Wilson play JITNEY. Jackson currently serves on the Executive Branch of the PGA as Recording Secretary and on the Board of Directors of the Austin Film Society.
