The role of Manager of Security Engineering with The Home Depot consisted of protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Information Systems within The Home Depot enterprise through the implementation of systems security controls, business process improvement, consistently updating, improving, and delivering new security capabilities for the organization under the guidance of the Sr. Director of Information Security.. This is a very hands-on role that required advanced technical skills.My primary responsibilities and duties as Manager Information Security revolved around delivering on the strategy of endpoint security, managing vendor and partner relationships, providing excellent service and availability for the endpoint and network security technologies on the teams portfolio, developed new processes and procedures to improve efficiency, cultivated and recruited new technical talent for the team and strengthen the overall security posture of the company. My duties also consisted of recruiting highly talented associates, resource allocation and planning, budgetary planning and forecasting, and working closely with different business organization across the company.This role required a strong understanding of technical details, SDLC processes, documenting, implementing, and maintaining the system and network security technical and procedural controls, collaborate extensively with other teams and build better business relationships, and act as the technical SME for services provided by IT Security Engineering.

In the role of Security Architect my responsibilities were multifaceted. These consisted of security consulting on new projects and engagements with business units across the company, managing and driving department security initiatives, evaluating new technologies, requirements assessments, and providing oversight and guidance on the Architectural Review Board.Primary responsibilities included internal security consulting on all activities for the POS product portfolio, creating and driving a Data Protection program that included DLP, operating processes and procedures, outlining a five year strategy, and managing the deployment and implementation of the technology. I also assisted in the development and mentoring the Cyber Security Engineers. I regularly participated and ran independent security assessments on internal projects and initiatives for other business portfolios, doing architectural reviews assessing the design against the security strategy for the organization that the appropriate controls were implemented to maintain the security posture

Responsible for the creation of long-term strategies and hands-on tactical solutions, addressing network, system, and application layers ensuring compliance with the enterprise Information Security Policy and its supporting procedures. Provide continuous assessments of all current and future security architecture to ensure that the security posture of the business adheres to all relevant industry compliance. Primary responsibilities included internal consultant relating to information security, collaborating with business units within the Enterprise, collecting & validating business requirements against technical capabilities, analyzing risks, and development of Information Security solutions. Work with all levels of business from executive management down to the individual contributors

The primary function of Information Security Assurance is to protect information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction. ISA is highly effective prevention of and resolution of all audit and compliance issues as well as developing and implementing exemplary policies and procedures, best practices, and assurance of current and future applied security controls. In this role, I created long-term strategies and hands-on tactical solutions addressing the network, system, and application layers assuring that the company Information Security Policy and its subsequent procedures are implemented properly. With this position I also provided continuous assessments of all current and future security architecture to ensure that the security posture of the business adheres to all relevant industry compliance. As the Information Security Assurance manager I prioritized and executed the remediation and preventative work efforts in order to minimize any outstanding compliance audit/remediation gaps. I was also heavily involved in the creation and maintaining of the Incident Response program holding quarterly table-top exercise and eventually became the technical coordinator for the program

In this position I was charged with ensuring the confidentiality, availability and the integrity of the company’s data through implementation, monitoring, and administration of the network security systems that governed the security posture of the network and worked closely the with security architecture team to timely meet the evolving needs of the business.Infrastructure engineering for all Global locations including but not limited to firewalls, IDS, VPN and related configuration designs and refinements; accountable for effectiveness of security architecture for OSI Layer 4-7 throughout Global Payment’s worldwide systems. As the Network Security Manager, I ensured the goals and security objectives of the organization were consistently met via research and development activities, qualified designs, proper implementation, and ongoing refinements to meet dynamic business needs. Investigated and proposed targeted approaches; prioritized work efforts and developed efficient SOP and validation procedures to ensure security engineering goals and Global standards are met in a pragmatic and highly proficient manner.

In this role I was responsible for providing Tier 3 support for the RealSecure Site Protector platform for our premier customers which included: Federal Government, Department of Defense, Academia, and a commercial Fortune 500 companies. In addition to providing technical support for ISS’s network intrusion detection platform, also responsible for new Proventia product line, consisting of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and the security event correlation engine at the time.As a senior Tier 3 analyst, I was frequently engaged with the investigation of customer security incidents, training new personnel, and assisting in the implementations of new technologies and upgrades on customer’s premises.

As the Network Support analyst for the Information Technology team my primary responsibilities required working directly with the Director of Network supporting the growth and productivity of the organization, maintaining maximum up-time and availability while adding value add, cost saving services such as voice over IP. Secondary responsibilities for this role included support the desktop environment such designing and implementing an unattended installation roll out of the latest operating system at the time, Windows XP.
