Mike Lowry has been involved, since 1977, in most every facet of commercial real estate through many economic cycles. Mike's experience includes: mortgage banking, investment property sales, consulting, leasing, and property management, most of which has occurred in Virginia. Since 1987, he has been instrumental in financing or brokering over $1.5 billion in commercial and multifamily properties. Mike joined NorthMarq in December 2013, as a Senior Vice President in their Richmond, VA office, where he is involved in providing real estate capital, including permanent fixed and variable rate loans, construction loans, mezzanine debt, bridge loans, forward commitments and equity/joint venture structures. All of which is through NorthMarq's mortgage banking platform of life insurance companies, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA Housing, CMBS, private equity funds and national/regional banks. Mike is also an active alumnus with Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was a Past-President of the VCU Real Estate Circle of Excellence and was Chairman for the 26th annual VCU Real Estate Trends Conference. He also taught Principles of Real Estate as an adjunct professor and has participated with the ULI-VCU Urban Plan program within the Kornblau Real Estate Program. Mike is a member of the Greater Richmond Association of Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE) and the VCU Real Estate Circle of Excellence.
