Originally from Boston Massachusetts, on September 23, 2008 I made my first steps in my 13year career by enlisting in the US Army as a 91 Bravo Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in the 116th infantry, stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas. I started as a low enlisted private and trained for my first 12month deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. Being the only 91 Bravo in the deployed unit came with great responsibility and with the mentorship by my commanding officer, upon return in 2012, I received a personal recommendation for promotion to Sargent. From 2012 to 2015 I worked as a squad leader of a 15-20 soldier motor pool to assist with training for further deployment. In 2013 the 116th infantry was awarded the brigades maintenance streamer for the current year best overall readiness. 2015 to 2018 I maintained the title of platoon Sargent, during which I did a 9month deployment to Iraq. I was placed in charge of a 5-soldier team that had a focus on maintaining the generators, logistics, shipping, and inventory of shipments of ammunition to and from the base. During this time, my team was able to create a more cost effective, efficient way of maintaining our base through generator farms. Upon return, I competed the 2-13th Aviation Regiment, Shadow UAS Repairer program at the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Huachuca. This program allowed me to expand my knowledge base on surveillance and reconnaissance for commanders to make a close to retime decision on how to manage their teams moving forward in battle. After graduation I was assigned to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, 117th attack reconnaissance helicopter battalion where I held the position of a Production Control, Non-Commission Officer in charge (PC, NCOIC). In 2019 I earned the rank of Staff Sargent until I was discharged in March 2021. I relocated to Florida to which I currently hold a Project Coordinator position for DBE Utility Services. During my 13-year career, I got married to a US Army Combat Medic and expanded our family by 3. I am working to maximize my civilian life and focus on understanding my industry and how to bring forth my work ethics and knowledge base that the Army has instilled.
