As an athletic director intern my main duties pertain to event management. I coordinate, organize, and supervise activities involving jr/sr high school athletics.

I help other small local businesses performing labor. This can range from operating heavy machinery to lawn care. Doing this, I am able to get experience with a large range of different tasks, and am able to work with different people and improve my social skills.

In May of 2017 I requested to do an internship for my May term credit for Simpson College. For this internship I reached out to a local small construction business for a management position. As a project manager I overlooked different construction jobs with the supervision of my boss. Due to the company's size there was usually only a few different jobs going on at a time so I was also able to get time in machinery operation. One thing I helped to implement into this company was the use of google docs to help let all employees have a better understanding of the duties, tasks, and goals of a particular week. This helped achieve better communication as well as a better understanding for all parts of the company.

In the spring of 2017 I did an internship with a small business called Bluegroove Hobbies and Raceway. With this internship my main duty was a facility manager as well as a team manager. This small business ran an indoor off-road dirt remote control car track as well as a hobby shop. I was in charge of managing the shop, managing the track, and also working closely with team drivers. We hosted multiple winter series race events and one very large spring event where people came from all of the country to attend. With this internship I was able to work on my management skills, inventory skills, communication skills, organizational skills, and leadership skills.

I assisted members and guests by getting their golf cart and clubs ready for their round. My second responsibility was to keep the driving range cleaned up and looking neat. If these two things are done then I was left to keep the bag room cleaned up and to be around to help answer any questions or perform any tasks that a member or guest may have.
