What I did (besides wearing many hats):• Planned, created, and disseminated communications materials and messages, including press releases, feature stories, event invitations/flyers, photography, and video, with the goal of promoting the school's students and faculty.• Managed the school's website (www.nursing.yale.edu) and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). My responsibilities included writing and sharing content, coordinating and selecting powerful and compelling photography that align with the school's message, updating web content as needed (for admissions, faculty, and other departments), and monitoring social media comments and analytics.• Editor of the school's award-winning bi-annual magazine, Yale Nursing Matters. I established production schedules, met deadlines, developed story ideas, wrote stories, worked with designers and freelance writers, and coordinated photography (and often took photos myself).• Designed and disseminated the school's monthly e-newsletter, Message from the Dean. The newsletter reached many audiences, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, preceptors, and other YSN friends.• Drafted letters, emails, and event speeches for the Dean.• Coordinated efforts between departments to ensure consistency in messaging.• Assisted with event planning for annual and special events.• Lead liaison between YSN and Yale University Office of Public Affairs and Communications.Who I collaborated with:• School leadership, including the Dean and Executive Deputy Dean• Colleagues within other YSN departments, including Alumni Affairs, Development, Admissions, and Student Affairs• Faculty• Students• Yale communications colleagues

During my two semesters of public relations graduate classes, and year of thesis research, I expanded my knowledge of the industry and built upon the expertise I learned in my undergraduate career. I have undoubtedly gained valuable public relations skills and am confident in my ability to apply these skills in my future career.

I managed the firm's social media, including Online Newsrooms. In addition, I was responsible for the organization of client material, logistics on projects and all social media both for the firm and select clients.

While at YSN, I monitored and updated the schools social media, including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts. In addition, I wrote and uploaded press releases for various Yale publications. Each month, I designed and disseminated the e-newsletter to hundreds of students, faculty and alumni. Over the course of my internship, I assisted in overhauling the school of nursing website by rewriting specific portions ("About", "Admission", "Academics", etc.)
