Worked as DPE and P.E Civils, reviewed and provide engineering assurance to design & construction activities on risk mitigation and renewal plans to achieve Network Rail safety and operational objectives.Provide engineering assurance for the protection of railway infrastructure and Network Rail assets by advising outside and third party development schemes. Liaised and managed interface with design and construction organisation, provide advice and recommendations related to health & safety and operational railway requirements in compliance with network rail company standards and guidance.

I was responsible to review, and approved design and construction related to several bridge replacement works, ATS, SATS, MPATS and ATFS 25 kV traction substations from Maidenhead to Bristol. I worked closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and Contractors to deliver GWEP projects, ranging in scope from small to large schemes.I was responsible for the replacement of bridges for 25kV OLE requirements in accordance with BS EN 50122 and the management of the design and build contract for construction of new 25kV traction substations from Maidenhead to Bristol areas.

I successfully delivered various bridge replacement schemes, Electrification enhancement schemes (Installation of HV Modules with Bund & Rainwater shelter and AT Transformers) and Re-Signalling schemes (Balcombe Bidirectional Re-signalling) I worked closely with Project Managers and Contractors to deliver Network Rail CP5 projects. These ranged in size from small to large schemes and included the replacement of underbridges, footbridges, Installation of HV Modules, AT Transformers & D.C switchgear renewal and signalling schemes.

I worked as Lead Project Engineer in the Railway Depot extension project at New Cross Gate for London Overground Capacity Improvement Programme (LOCIP), an objective for London of Mayor, Boris Johnson pledges made to the travelling public. I Led the multidisciplinary Project Engineering team where I engaged closely with Project Manager and Engineering Manager to deliver New Cross Gate Depot extension for 5 car, Class 378 trains. I liaised with the Design & Build Contractor, Multidisciplinary designers and construction team, in order to satisfy TfL’s multidisciplinary requirements by providing technical support and where necessary, identify and deliver innovative cost-effective solutions in a safe environment.

I Led the multi-disciplinary engineering team as DPE in successfully advancing the Option Selection, GRIP3 for North East (Anglia route) infrastructure and stations projects to Single Option Development Stage GRIP4; Later delivered GRIP 4 as a Project Engineer of approx. £150m worth of Infrastructure works. As Designated Project Engineer and Project Design Engineer, I managed the Crossrail Anglia Route works which comprised a platform extension, installation of DDA compliant lifts & footbridge, infrastructure enhancement works (Railway Siding & REB, 25kV OLE & Signaling structures) in order to satisfy Crossrail Functional requirements, Company and Group standards, policies and procedures. I wrote multidisciplinary Technical Scope document for Design & Built Contract, Worked closely with Requirements & Assurance Team to satisfy Crossrail requirements, liaised with the Project manager, Route Assets Engineers and the multidisciplinary engineering team to ensure projects completed in time and accordance with Crossrail baseline program, assist project controls, including budgeting, scheduling, and planning.

I worked as a Structure Design Engineer in a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for the design of several railway civil asset. This included a railway platform, concrete substructures for REB/PSP and Signal bases, Design Retaining walls (brickwork and concrete) and Design steel bridge in accordance with relevant code of practices and standards. I managed the CAD team and Graduate engineer and produced Design Review Notes (DRN) for railway projects in compliance with Disability Discrimination Acts (DDA), the SRA code of practice, Network Rail and Railway Group standards

I worked as a Design and Subcontract Package Manager in £7.5 million Design & Build project, new DLR station at Langdon Park, East London - Coordinated design development activities with designer and architect, Produced and reviewed Method Statements & Risk Assessments, Produced Inspection and Test Plan, Responded to contractors Technical Queries (TQ), Managed Project handover process.

I worked as a Project Manager/Engineer to deliver projects within highly safety-oriented environment of London Underground in BSR Metro (Balfour Beatty Civils) part of 30 yrs. PPP contract of Metronet Alliance

Worked as Structure Engineer in 10 yrs. Network Rail Framework Structural Assessment Contract (SAC) for the South East region in Mouchel Parkman Ltd where carried out Inspection and assessment of several railway infrastructure assets such as bridges, retaining wall, culverts and arches etc. and produced examination and structural assessment reports using Network Rail’s code of practices e.g. RT/CE/C/025, RT/CE/S/035 and RT/CE/S/080 and NR/GN/CIV/015 to identify defects and provide recommendations for improvement and safety hence enhance railway operational performance.

I worked as a Graduate Structure Engineer in structures design team responsible for the maintenance and improvement of motorways and trunk roads in West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, the estimated value of the contract was between £23M and £33M per annum.
