I have 35 years in the medical field with completing courses in Medical Terminology & Coding. I enrolled in the D.E.C.A. program my senior year and worked for Hematology & Oncology in Winter Park, Fla. as a file clerk. I was later promoted to preparing Dr.'s charts and obtaining patient results etc.I then worked for Gastroenterology as medical records clerk and was promoted to insurance verification/authorization prior to patients upcoming surgeries. I moved to Schweinfurt Germany for 3 years while my husband was in the Army. I was a personal trainer for women and helped them achieve their goals. When returning from Germany I tried something new by going into apartment leasing, recording punchouts and maintaning supply log for manager. Realizing how much I missed the medical field I resigned and went to work for Orlando Surgery Center as a surgery scheduler until they temporarily closed the doors. Infectious Disease Consultants had an opening for front desk/ medical records and later I was quickly promoted to medical billing / accounts payables department. My future goal was to work with Sound Images, Inc. as a surgery scheduler & administrator to achieve multiple tasks while working independently.
