As a Membership Recruitment Specialist, I am responsible for engaging and signing new members to get involved in helping girls and young women achieve change in the world for the better.For over 100 years, Girl Scouts has empowered girls to lead, break barriers, and create positive change. Girl Scouts’ powerful all-girl space fosters collaboration over competition, and inspires girls to go beyond dreaming to actual doing.In this sales-oriented role I meet, in person and by phone, with students, parents, community members, teachers, school leaders, and groups to help engage and inform potential new members about all the amazing ways becoming a Girl Scout can help to educate and empower them as an individual and in the world.In this role, I travel and create meaningful and lasting connections with recruitment outlets, members, caregivers, schools, faith-based communities, community organizations, and other contacts.Create, design, schedule, promote and conduct events bringing parents, students, caregivers, and teachers together to learn more about Girl Scouts membership and its benefits. Provide Intensive Home-Based Therapeutic Care as a team member of this wraparound service. Advocate for the identified client's needs and therapeutic goals. Collaborate with clinicians, family partners, peer mentors, and external providers to create a positive, strength-based treatment plan within the family structure over long-term services.

I have spent the last several months establishing a strong rapport with elementary-age children who have varying identified behavioral, social, emotional, and academic needs. I cultivate a positive learning environment where they can flourish in and out of the elementary school classroom. I provide support to general education and specialist teachers during class. Finally, I mentor the children in specialized individual and small group settings to improve their academic careers.

Assist In-Home Therapists and Therapeutic Mentors in providing services to empower youth and families in the process of improving emotional self-awareness and independence. Planned Therapeutic Mentoring educational sessions for youth, including discussions of healthy versus unhealthy relationships. Provide educational and interpersonal insight to help support clients in progressing toward higher levels of overall function.

In this position, I ensure the safety of children four months to twelve years of age as they learn lifelong essential skills. I instruct students on skills while maintaining balance and time management in back to back classes. I adapt to teach the levels I am assigned. I am flexible with each individual’s abilities and learning styles for them to best advance in our swimming program. I encourage children in a positive and constructive way to help create a welcoming environment at our facility.

In this role, I developed and executed artistic and entertaining activities for child participants. This included sand art, tie-dye, painting, games, and more. I worked with children and families. Next, I ensured physical safety and sanitary conditions of premises as a groundskeeper. I cleaned throughout the day to maintain the beach appearance and cleanliness. Additionally, I worked inside the concessions stand as both a cook and cashier. I followed health code processes to every detail and kept a positive attitude to sustain a positive image for the location. As a fill-in counselor during the summer and spring camps, I assisted with physically demanding work including ropes course construction and belaying campers. Finally, I kept an outgoing and engaging personality to create relationships with each camper and make sure they are prioritized in their safety and emotions.

As an English teacher aide, I was responsible for organizing classroom supplies, distributing materials, utilizing technology to coordinate and execute lessons. In this position, I also clarified the students' inquiries individually. Communicating with them in basic English, and resolved any further confusion using my strong skills in the Spanish language. I refocused distracted students and ensured we stayed on track with the lesson plan. I was able to adapt to the different learning styles of both groups, and individual personalities. The younger students required more interaction to maintain a focus. Additionally, they needed a stronger sense of discipline to create a positive, effective learning environment. As a result of this experience, I have gained cultural knowledge of a new place, as well as further developed and enhanced my language skills. I have also grasped the reality of the challenges and rewards of teaching in this position.

I maintained store appearance through precise placement and following display instructions. Additionally, I helped organize the stockroom in order to retain easy and fast accessibility to merchandise. This included lifting heavy shipments, restocking low quantity products, and being flexible in changing displays to best fit the needs of the store.
