North West Maintenance Services is an electrical installation and mechanical engineering company specialising primarily in pumps and pumping systems. We provide services to a wide range of industries, with particular expertise in the wastewater industry. In addition, we are pump specialists, to the oil & gas industry. Since its inception in 1998, North West Maintenance Services has built up a leading reputation as electrical installation and mechanical engineers. As Managing Director I personally maintain development programmes to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the industry. My role is to ensure the smooth running of the company by securing a continued and sustainable business development plan. My day-to-day roles include; budgeting, finance, facilitating and overseeing meetings, hands-on staff training and mentoring, plus the logistical tasks of organising distributors. The most rewarding part of the job is the ongoing provision of a future for our workforce by ensuring our staff develop their careers to the best of their abilities.One of the most innovative and exciting products we promote as pump specialists is the Deragger II which offers an energy-saving and cost effective solution to one of the most common problems in the industry today; pump blockages. The Deragger II. offers full pump diagnostic information, making it the perfect solution for even the smallest pumping stations. In developing my career with the oil & gas sector to now as Managing Director, I have accrued valuable experience. This enables me to apply the most cost-effective methods and approaches for providing leading-edge services and products to our customers and clients.

Prior to becoming Managing Director of pump specialists North West Maintenance Services, I was Senior Authorised Engineer at Kenton Utilities, overseeing a department of 30 engineers. My priority was to set up a mechanical engineering division for the company, which involved organising, running, maintaining and monitoring the division’s day-to-day activities, determining workloads and co-ordinating development and progression with other departments. Other responsibilities included:• Managing programme area activities, goals and objectives, evaluating effectiveness. • Directing operations - by implementing principles and practices of management and supervision. • Supervising and evaluating staff, training and directing their work on a project or day-to-day basis. • Communicating effectively with officials, co-workers, staff and clients, alongside representatives of other public and private organisations, and representing the company at meetings.The position helped me understand the management of large engineering projects in industries such as oil & gas and led to my current position as Managing Director at North West Maintenance Services. Up until 2001 and before my role as Managing Director of pump specialists, North West Maintenance Services,I was employed as supervisor at Site Electrical (a Division of Eric Wright Civil Engineering), which is a specialist mechanical and engineering contractor to the water and wastewater industry.My role included:• Day-to-day managerial work, overseeing and organising 30 engineers• Setting up a mechanical engineering division for company• Running the engineer's’ daily activities• Directing operations• Training staff and directing their project work on a daily basis. • Dealing with clients and organising/overseeing and representing the company at meetings.Since 2002, I have worked for North West Maintenance Services which provides electrical installation services to industries including oil & gas and are one of the country’s main providers of the Deragger II, wastewater monitoring software which eliminates potential problems of pump blockages before they occur.
