As a Pro Bono Leader with Berkeley Law's Survivor Advocacy Project, I oversee and coordinate two student-led pro bono initiatives, working closely with attorneys from the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center and Equal Rights Advocates. As part of the Survivor Advocacy Project, a pro-bono Student-Initiated Legal Services Project, I worked with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center researching law in relation to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) requirements to help protect system-impacted people from sexual violence and to facilitate recovery resources. My project was drafting an annotated memorandum of understanding template to be used by victim service agencies and correctional agencies to satisfy PREA obligations.
