Crime Prevention Specialist -I act as a liaison between the police department and community members. I provide relevant safety information for our community and local government. I prepare, maintain, and distribute crime prevention literature and materials for set programs. I conduct residential, commercial, and government security site assessments. I identify building safety concerns which assist in mitigating risk and the potential for crime. I monitor and participate in a variety of community engagement programs and educate community members in preventing crime. I routinely utilize social media and local news to inform the public with safety concerns and identify potential risks.

Patrol Officer, 2008-2009, and 2015- I monitored, analyzed and investigated criminal behavior in my assigned patrol-area. I ensured patrol needs were met including calls for service, traffic violations and contacts with citizens and businesses. On a routine basis, I interviewed suspects, subjects, complainants and witnesses. I documented dialogue with all subjects properly and accurately. My patrol duties also included analyzing areas with high call volume and high crime rates. I also prepared strategies to mitigate, reduce, and deter criminal behavior. I have assisted in the implementation of the koper curve methods to policing and have adopted the citzencentric policing model. Power Shift Patrol Officer, 2009-2011: I was assigned city wide and patrolled using geographic and intelligence led policing tactics to enhance the safety of the community. I developed a community based problem solving project to dismantle a burglary series that lasted several months resulting in multiple convictions. I developed briefings, created and printed media, provided lectures and audio/visual presentations to inform the community of security efforts made by law enforcement. I personally conducted complex investigations accurately, thoroughly, and objectively. I reported facts in a logical, concise, and understandable manner both to my chain of command and in a court of law. I responded, investigated, and prepared courtroom testimony involving crimes to include but not limited to arson, aggravated assault, domestic violence, larceny, embezzlement, sex offenses, narcotics, weapons violations and threats.

For Diplomatic Security Service I generated the first standard operating procedure (SOP) which aided in multiple deployments of the MSG Security Augmentation Unit (MSAU) to our embassies and consulates. These deployments assisted in ensuring a safe and secure environment for the conduct of U.S. Foreign Policy. I acted as a liaison between the D.O.S. and D.O.D, U.S.M.C. personnel on expeditious deployments of the newly created MSAU. I liaised with DS Couriers on a daily basis to ensure the proper regulation, procedures and protocol is followed. I monitored/analyzed weaknesses in the program, pinpointed responsibility/culpability, and recommended corrective action as appropriate.
