Acted for the publisher of the unauthorised biography of Malcolm Turnbull in defamation proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia. Acted for a Commonwealth government agency in proceedings for breach of privacy. Advised London market insurers on coverage issues arising out of several major ongoing class action proceedings, including:• A shareholders' class action in the Federal Court in relation to the issue of a defective product disclosure statement; and• A class action in the Supreme Court of New South Wales against a government-owned corporation in relation to property damage suffered during a recent major natural disaster.Acted for a major Australian resources company in a series of test cases attempting to explore the defences available to that company in respect of historical asbestos exposures.
