Eric accepts briefs in all areas of public and commercial law. Eric’s primary practice is white-collar crime, and commercial matters which involve fraud or other alleged criminality. Eric holds briefs for both the prosecution and the defence in large-scale money laundering and fraud matters. Eric has advised or appeared for the NSW Department of Planning and Environment; the NSW Crown Solicitors’ Office; and the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. Eric has also advised political associations, high net worth individuals and sophisticated investors. Eric accepts briefs in environmental law offences in the NSW Land and Environment Court, or Local Court. Eric has also provided advice and represented individuals or corporations at interviews where coercive powers have been exercised by regulatory bodies such as NSW Fair Trading; local councils under the Environment Planning and Assessment Act 1979; and the NSW Crime Commission. Prior to his call to the Bar, Eric served as an Associate to the Honourable Judge J Hatzistergos (now the Chief Commissioner of the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption); and as the Tipstaff to his Honour Justice P Johnson (now the NSW Chief Commissioner of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission). Eric graduated from the University of Sydney with distinction and was awarded various scholarships and academic prizes. Thereafter, Eric worked at the Commonwealth Director’s office; the State prosecution agency; and a boutique commercial litigation firm. Eric reported leading cases across Australia for the Federal Court Reports; Federal Law Reports and the Australian Criminal Reports.
