I came to the realization very quickly in my career that sales are effective when you focused on understanding a customer’s needs, rather than matching a product to specifications. I learned to act more as an industrial automation consultant, understanding the customer’s applications, resolving specific issues, and providing the right solutions. Spending most of my career on the manufacturer-side as a Regional Manager, it was my responsibility to support and motivate my representative partners. I have also had the opportunity to work for a manufacturer’s representative firm where I was provided a unique perspective into the other side of the manufacturer/representative partnership. Bringing this unique perspective to M4 Knick has helped me foster better relationships with our representative channel.
