I was a lawyer for 25 years at Walker Morris and Irwin Mitchell helping major PLCs, family owned business, partnerships, charities, local authorities and individuals to grow and become more successful and profitable. I held senior management positions including on Executive Boards, setting strategy and budgets and managing change for teams across the country, culminating in attending a business leadership course at Harvard in advance of being the Managing Partner of the Leeds office of Irwin Mitchell.I was never just a lawyer though. I have always worked in partnership with my clients and got to know their businesses, commercial aims and challenges so as to be a trusted confidante and a key member of the team. I have dedicated time to contribute to my local community and been involved with the Chamber of Commerce, the CBI, Leeds & Partners Advisory Board and with joint ventures with the West Yorkshire Playhouse and the Leeds Rugby Foundation. For the last 5 years I have transferred my skills to coaching and supporting senior business leaders and owners to help them be more successful and fulfilled in their business and personal lives. Much of this work has been in the role as the Chairman of four Vistage private advisory groups, where business leaders learn and support each other in a dynamic, challenging and fun environment, solving problems and evaluating opportunities. It is an amazing environment which has truly transformed my life and those of my members.
