The GM serves as the chief administrative officer of the ICC, a member-owned organization of 18 houses and 21 buildings in total, providing housing for up to 550 people (primarily college students). Responsibilities include overseeing the operational, financial, and legal affairs of the corporation; supervising a staff of more than 12-16 staff and more volunteers; guiding the management and maintenance of ICC assets; partnering and meeting with several University of Michigan departments, including the Dean of Students; participating in national organizations including a cooperative development board; serving on a neighborhood organization; advocating at the state government level for property tax reform; and more. I lead the human resources department and supervise the hiring, supervision of, and benefits administration for all staff. Together the ICC aims to be the beacon affordable student housing cooperative.
