Hello! I'm Nicole, currently double majoring in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) and Bioengineering at UC Berkeley. I am especially interested in the intersectionality between Healthcare and Technology, and I plan to integrate my programming skills to drive positive medical applications in the future.Aged 14, I brought the global #GirlsinAI Hackathon to Hong Kong, becoming the youngest lead organiser among 45 countries. For the past three years, we have served over 300 students through hackathons and 200 children from marginalised communities through hackathons, workshops and STEM programs. In recognition, I am grateful to have been featured on platforms such as the South China Morning Post, the UN World Economic Forum, De Telegraaf and others, allowing me to advocate change to the gender disparity issue in tech.Beyond TeensinAI, I was elected as the Vice President of the HK Outstanding Students' Association and previously served as a board member at Technovation Girls and GirlsinSTEM International. I am honoured to be selected as a HKSES Scholar, receiving $154K scholarship to study at UC Berkeley. Moreover, I am grateful to have become a finalist of the Hong Kong Outstanding Students' Award 2020-21 and the Student of the Year Grand Prize 2022-23. I hope to continue shedding light on the prominent inequality issues many face and inspire others to catalyse a larger difference.
