I had responsibility in the UK for loan syndications reporting to the Head of Loan Markets in Germany. My role includes: - Placing commercial real estate loans with banks, institutional lenders, funds and other specialist real estate finance providers. Particular focus on placing and structuring subordinated debt by way of B or Mezzanine loans.- Assessment and sign off of new underwrite risk: meeting new investors in CRE and understanding investor preferences; preparing liquidity analysis; contributing to pricing and structuring debates; making market judgements and opining and signing off on underwrite risk and the deliverability of club structures- Placing existing loans from the UK book in the secondary market on an opportunistic basis- Managing and effecting the sell down or club process: preparation of the main sales information document on a transaction; working with potential investors and club partners through their internal credit process and documentation stage. - Maximisation of income for the bank: optimising fee and margin skimming whilst ensuring portfolio objectives are met on underwrite positions. Successfully arranging clubs where pbb takes a lead position in a club deal. - Maintenance of syndication database: contacts and investor preferences - Provision of Market Intelligence: keeping the wider team abreast of competitor activities- Developing and maintaining pbb's profile in the wider syndicated loan market- Deal origination: tracking market activity to identify opportunities for pbb to be involved in other bank's transactions

The APL provides a range of educational, networking and social activities for its members and has formed a number of joint ventures with other leading industry bodies such as the IPF, CREFCE and RICS.

As Head of Syndication in the London Branch, I was responsioble for syndication of UK originated loans and sourcing opportunities from our syndication partners. Also responsible for maintaining contact with the banking market and providing market intelligence to my origination colleagues.
