Hello! My name is Olivia Gomez, but you can call me Ollie. I'm a junior Media Studies and Production major at Temple University's Lew Klein College of Media & Communications. Alongside my major, I'm pursuing a minor in Digital Media Engagement and a certificate in Children’s Media.My experiences at Temple have been an exhilarating one, fueling my passion for content creation and storytelling. As an active member of various organizations, I've found joy in every avenue of media expression. Whether it's crafting engaging content for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok as a Social Media and Video Creator for the Temple University Diamond Marching Band or collaborating on video projects with Temple Smash, I'm constantly immersed in the world of media production. Outside of my extracurriculars, I also had the privilege of serving as a 2023 Orientation Owl Team Leader and 2024 Student Coordinator with the Temple University New Student and Families Program. It was incredibly rewarding to guide new students through their college transition and help them feel connected and supported on campus. Serving as both a leader and mentor, I gained valuable skills in communication, organization, and authenticity that I continue to carry into my future work. At the start of the Fall Semester of 2024, I began an internship as their Social Media Assistant at REC, where I’ve had the chance to expand my expertise in managing and revitalizing social media platforms, such as X, Threads, and Discord. This role has continued to deepen my understanding of community engagement and brand presence while allowing me to hone skills in trend analysis and platform strategy. I’m excited to continue evolving as a media professional, bringing fresh ideas and a collaborative spirit to REC as I finish out my internship.Each experience has fueled my enthusiasm for creating meaningful content that resonates with audiences and my dream is to leverage my love for storytelling and digital engagement to create content that not only entertains but also inspires and informs.
