• Joined newly formed New Media department, which oversaw 16 newspaper websites across the country. Start-up duties included hiring and training web editors, determining technology needs for each city, and establishing editorial guidelines and budgeting systems for web staff.• Managed 13 web editors, handling everything from journalistic guidance (right-click + save-as does not = free photos) to administrative issues. Served as point person for cities without web editors, advising on ways to increase page views with limited expenditure. • Researched and implemented editorial social media strategy for company, establishing best practices and ensuring web editors engaged readers on multiple platforms. • Acted as first-line contact for editorial development requests, working closely with developers to ensure user workflow was considered.• All of the above helped VVM grow its website network from 14 million monthly page views to 42 million monthly page views over a two-year period.
