About Panley L.
Hey, I'm Panley! I have a rich history in community management & app development. Most of my history is on Discord, where I've built up my talents over the past 5 years. I spend most of my time building Discord apps as both a hobby and a job, working with some amazing companies to bring exciting new experiences to Discord! I love pushing the boundaries of what's possible to bring users truly unique experiences on Discord & beyond, leveraging cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare is my fave!) to rapidly build applications that can scale to millions of daily events. In the past I've had the pleasure of working with Discord to aid strategic partners with bringing their applications to life on the platform. Outside of app dev, I'm a community manager with history in moderation, even being a member of Discord's moderator programmes, writing articles for moderators & community managers & helping to moderate the servers of Discord's strategic partners. When I'm not working, I'm usually playing the piano, speedrunning or gaming!

This application launched as a larger brand push on the app directory in June 2023, where it took a featured spot. I have since continued to work with CHANI to release new commands and align marketing with larger brand pushes, even creating a newsletter sign-up inside Discord. -

I worked with the Memrise team to create this Discord application, leveraging many facets of the Discord API to make a strong private and public flow for the application. This application launched as a larger brand push on the app directory in June 2023, where it took a featued spot. The application performed very well on launch, rapidly earning users and server additions. -

Contract DeveloperDiscord Oct 2022 - Nov 2022Partnering with the American Music Awards, Discord offered this contract opportunity to create a Discord app that would allow users to vote in the 'Favorite Kpop Artist' category from Discord. This project included a direct integration with the American Music Awards voting provider and required considerations for anti-abuse to prevent vote dupeing/spoofing. Over the course of this app's runtime, millions of votes were processed seamlessly. Scalability and UI were the priorities of this project, both were delivered to great success!
