I helped to premote the environmental health of a small, rural community in the Andes of Peru by decresing baterial disease, and supporting proper environmental procedures to conserve the land, water, and ecosystem.

Working as an assitant to the Co-Founder of the Great Whale Conservancy, I was mentored and participated in the indentification of individual ceteceans of many species of whale, dolphin, and porpoise. Filming of behavior was recorded along with GPS location of many whales to participate in a larger study to track the migration patterns of whale species arond the world without the harmful technique of tagging. Analyzation of this data helps prove the effects of draining the Colorado River on the Sea of Cortez.

Working as a research assistant at a marine wet lab, I diagnosed the water quality of 2 large esturaries in the area. The water quality of the ecosystem has a large affect on the fishery popuations living there, so meauring the abundance of various species was necessary as well to keep record of the fisheries and the effects of the fishing industry on them.

I responded to the scene of strandings of various marine species including: harbor and bottlenose dolphins, leatherhead turtles, and a Atlantic Right Whale, one of many endangered whale species. Neocropcies were preformed on each of the individuals to record the reason for the stranding and the ultimate dealth of the animal, as well as the overall health of the animal including its diet.
