Developing molecular models of organ transplant health.

• Led toxicological studies on embryological effects of chemical exposure to Arctic marine invertebrate species.• Contributed to the development of toxicity database for Arctic aquatic species.

• Informed long-term strategies for assessing pollution risks to Arctic wildlife by conducting quantitative research and analysis on environmental nickel concentrations in polar regions. • Contributed to ongoing efforts to establish environmental policy in the Arctic by producing data-driven assessments to detect and visualize spatial and temporal changes in nickel pollution.• Provided critical advice to the Nickel Institute and its industry partners on developing a framework for risk assessment of nickel pollution in the Arctic.

• Provided targets for improvements to municipal wastewater treatment facilities to protect wildlife by leading research programs and data analysis on the effects of pharmaceuticals on wildlife.• Developed novel approaches for detecting pharmaceuticals in wastewater, testing for maternal transfer of e-cigarette compounds to the developing fetus, and demonstrating the impact of migratory seabirds as a transport vector for contaminants in the Arctic.• Initiated and led a meta-analysis on suspended sediment effects in wildlife in partnership with the City of Calgary Water Utility that led to the successful acquisition of an NSERC Alliance Grant.• Prepared grants applications ($500,000 - $1,000,000) with NSERC Alliance and Alberta Innovates (one successful with City of Calgary as Partner). • Instructed a short course on data analysis and visualization for academic, government, and industry attendees at SETAC PNC, and co-instructed graduate-level special topics course for two years for the department of Biological Sciences, University of Calgary.• Advised the Estonian Research Council on funding one of their scientific research programs and served as external examiner to advise the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Saskatchewan, on suitability of Master Degree candidate obtaining their degree.
