I have been in the rental real estate market for over a decade. I personally own and manage my own rental property in the Saint Louis area. I hold a broker's license, not your standard/entry realtor license. A broker's license requires a minimum level of experience, as well as additional testing. As a broker, I'm more than happy to help investors with their success in the Saint Louis market - a market I believe is one of the best-suited (if not the best) markets for rental real estate in the country. Prior to being a full-time broker, I worked in the tax department of Wells Fargo Advisors. I also maintained a private tax preparation practice of nearly 40 clients at its height (now currently just for close friends and family). The result is a complete understanding of investment property from purchase to ownership to eventual divestment, and compliance throughout. I also have a strong passion for leveraging technology to find and implement efficiencies in everything I do. As a one-man operation for most of my career, this is as necessary as it is fruitful. For clients who need them, I connect and refer the same vendors for lending, title, inspections, and repairs etc. I use for my own investments. All of which I trust to perform their role timely and effectively. This, aside from finding and choosing the right property, is perhaps the most important and overlooked part of any real estate purchase.Currently (as of 2023), I am learning the "builder" trade as I resurrect a 3-story four family from a fire requiring demo down to brick and joists. This has led to a growing interest in "building science" and the potential returns an efficient building can attain via tax credits (both historical and green energy), and lower utilities etc. I'm hoping to show it makes financial sense to build green in the investment / non-owner-occupant space. Proving such could really accelerate the construction of far more energy-efficient and much longer-lasting buildings - a true win for both the planet and the person spending their money. My other passions include sports (soccer in particular), guitar, architecture (the Hagia Sophia is a favorite) and travel - I love to travel. It's one of the main reasons I entered this space - the rent is always due, no matter where you are!
