We live in an incredible time in history, never before has humanity faced the types of challenges we are currently dealing with. However, future technologies will allow us to address these issues in ways we have never thought possible. We are currently at the ‘knee of the curve;’ in the next decade we will see technological progress at an exponential rate. Already we are seeing the emergence of virtual and augmented reality, quantum and parallel computing, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, self-driving cars; things that were science fiction when I was a teen. This new paradigm means that corporations, governments and academia all over the world need to adjust and adapt to a new era brought about by disruptive technologies. I’ve made it my own personal mission to leave a positive legacy and I will do whatever I can to help people who share my mindset. Further to this long-term mission, I have a love of entrepreneurship which started with the founding of my first company, Tootz. While in my role as CEO of Tootz, I was lucky enough to participate in The University of Adelaide’s ThIncLab Commercialisation Accelerator, HUB Adelaide’s Young Entrepreneur Program (now Spark Program) and also ANZ Innovyz START Commercialisation Accelerator. Through these three programs I worked with many mentors who helped cultivate my world view.A large portion of my career was spent at Accodex, a professional services company tasked with democratising business intelligence. I had many roles such as Chief Technology Officer where my responsibilities include developing on the Salesforce platform, maximising our team’s efficiency and integrating new technologies into our business.I enjoy reading and learning about topics such as computer science, genetics, robotics, astronomy, space travel and climate science among others. Humankind has many threats to address and I plan on being a part of the solution.
