I've worked to established a machine shop for Texas Inventionworks. This initially involved physical machine setup and shop organization, as well as establishing standards, safety and trainings. Now I train students and fellow staff members on how to operate machine shop equipment. When needed, I advise students on the best methods for prototyping and testing their various projects. Additionally, I'm making constant efforts to improve the trainings and space for students.

I'm in charge of testing and driver development. This involves creating test plans, organizing personnel and maintaining equipment. On the track I have to direct many tasks simultaneously, and if necessary diagnosing and solve problems with the resources we brought with us. I communicate with each subteam to ensure that the systems are functioning, and work with many disciplines of engineering.

I've poured countless hours, blood, sweat and tears into building this team from the ground up. As team captain, I was involved with every aspect of our FSAE team. Most of my time is spent overseeing the various projects and members working on them, but I also have a large hands-on role in our corporate relations and manufacturing. Some of my more notable jobs were:• Worked with other passionate freshmen to start our electric FSAE team on a solid foundation, with plenty of ability to grow• Built infrastructure for recruiting, training and project management to grow our team• Coordinated with system leads to pilot the 50-person team on an aggressive 8-month timeline • Managed team meetings Gantt chart, accounting, university relations• Model and analyzed car components, such as bearing blocks or wings, to validate and iterate designs• Establish training programs for new members which resulted in 200% membership growth each yearParts I have designed or helped design:• the 2017 frame• the 2017 motor mounts• the 2017 nosecone• the 2019 aero packageI also provide manufacturing input on many of the complex parts we make in house.

As an Undergraduate Research Assistant I work in the Mechanical Engineer Department machine shop. My responsibilities included:• Operate manual and CNC machines to fulfill a wide variety of work orders• Collaborate with other student workers to maintain the machine shop and mechanical engineering building• Teach students to machine with one-on-one instruction and 20+ person certification sessionsFor the fall semester I also help TA the ME 350 class, in which students hone their machining skills by making a series of parts.

As an Intern at Athena I worked on a new utility vehicle project for the company and some miscellaneous tasks to help the production floor. My primary job was the utility vehicle project. • Analyzed utility vehicle market and competitors to identify market opportunity• Developed a desired vehicle profile to guide design towards a commercially viable vehicle• Assembled various components setups to serve as the core of the vehicle design• Modeled the early revisions of the vehicle with SolidworksI also got to see, up close, how a wide variety of parts are made in production facilities.
