Animal Care Manager
CurrentTeam Leadership and Animal Care Program Management- Provide leadership through strong communication, active goal setting, routine coaching, and use of formal performance management programs.- Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, and continued development of all direct employees. - Development and execution of an annual operating budget.- Promote human safety through implementation and routine coaching of safety best practices.- Development of animal care programs that meet customer animal care standards.- Develop and maintain efficient and accurate data management systems for recordkeeping. - Development of programs to report, investigate, and document corrective actions taken for animal care related incidences. - Serve as a technical resource for internal animal care incidents and crisis scenarios. - Monitor scientific advancements in animal care practices and collaborate with production management to support continuous improvement.- Serve as a technical resource to support company communications, industry relations, public policy, and customer advocacy. - Serve as a liaison for industry, customer, and public policy relations.- Lead team calibration events to ensure consistent animal care program execution.Cross-functional support of quality assurance initiatives- Leadership and coordination of initiatives to implement on-farm technologies and management practices aimed at improving animal care, health assurance, human safety, and production performance. - Development and continuous improvement of training and auditing programs.- Collaboration with operational leaders to streamline employee training and audit programs. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to publish Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports.
