Principals of Professional Services provide technical leadership for the AWS Professional Services organization. They establish technical standards and drive system architecture for AWS customer engagements and internal methodologies and design patterns. Principals of Professional Services work on our hardest problems, building high quality, scalable, and architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our customer’s business needs. Principals are pragmatic visionaries who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions. Their expertise is deep and broad; they are hands-on, producing both detailed technical work and high-level architectural designs. They are leaders and mentors, leading engagement Delivery Quality reviews, and setting excellent examples for their local teams and the entire Amazon technical community.

• Oversee project, plan, coordinate, and design technical and business goals in consultation with client and top management and make detailed plans for the accomplishment of these goals. • Work with junior level staff to develop and implement the overall concepts of the project. • Identify existing technology and systems at client site to determine how client's existing system can be utilized in conjunction with system enhancements. • Direct the work of developers, systems analysts, computer programmers, support specialists, and other related workers. • Plan and coordinate activities such as installation and upgrading of data warehouse and associated software, programming and systems design. • Analyze the computer and information needs of the client organization, from an operational and strategic perspective, and determine immediate and long-range personnel and equipment requirements. • Assign and review the work of subordinates and stay abreast of the latest technologies.
