Software development took me by surprise. Growing up, I knew I'd be an artist. But I didn't expect coding to become my medium of choice.Ever since that first CodeCademy course (JavaScript), I was hooked. Since then I've relished in the idea of building, iterating, and testing my creations.I first started that JavaScript course in 2014, while exploring career choices in community college. I then transitioned into a Computer Science program at UMBC. While my course load focused on C++ development and network security, I used this time to explore whatever I could find. I collaborated with friends in the HackUMBC hackathon, tinkered with UNIX shell scripting, and dipped into game design.While at UMBC, I scored an internship with NAVAIR. My passion for learning carried me through, as my tasks utilized concepts from networking, Python, and C++ development. It taught me a lot about working in a team, as the other developers and I had a lot to teach each other. After graduation, NAVAIR hired me full-time. Currently, I work in a team building an application using C++ and OpenGL for thousands of customers worldwide.In my free time, I like to tinker with both software and hardware. In fact, I built the keyboard I'm using to type this summary.
